Patrick’s Feed and Seed Inside Look

So, as you may remember, I went to Atlanta a few weeks ago for a conference.

While I was there, I took some time to check out the local quilt stores, and I thought you might like to hear about my adventures. In my last email, I shared my trip to InTown Quilters in Decatur, Georgia. The next store I visited was Patrick’s Feed and Seed in Covington, Georgia.

My trip to Patrick’s was a lot of fun! The highways felt large… not the way Texas highways are large, but big and sprawling. Built to accommodate the large crowds of Atlanta. At the same time there were trees hugging the side of the road end up skewering what felt like a suburban sprawl. Just off the highway it felt like the backwoods country, and when I stepped Patrick’s it felt like stepping in to the heart of the countryside.

Patrick’s is a unique store, half quilt store, half General Store.

Because it was early spring, the non quilting portion of the store who’s full of stock to help you get ready in the garden. As the seasons change, so does the non quilting items for sale.

At Christmas, Patrick’s goes through pounds and pounds of candy, as everyone in the area shops for their holiday feasts.

The store is very very large with cathedral ceilings, and fans gently whirring to keep the air moving.

The walls are covered in quilt samples.

There were over 4,000 bolts of fabric in the store, and the prints were all charming and appealing.Patrick’s offers quilting classes twice a year to a very select number of Quilters.
